We encourage the Bon Meade students to develop habits of scholarship, to search for the academic information that exists beyond the surface web available from the "free" browsers. Access within a few easy clicks may not always produce the best results for schoolwork. The subscription databases that our school offers, like Go Grolier and Power Library, have gone through a rigorous publishing process. NetTrekker provides pre-filtered, evaluated internet sites. The surface web or the free web, which has much to offer, is still an unfiltered, self-publishing medium. We encourage our students to analyze and evaluate those sites before they use them for academic purposes. |
