School Closings & Delays
There are numerous sources from where you may receive important alerts about school cancellations and two-hour delays.
1. They will be posted on our homepage: http://www.moonarea.net.
2. Closing or delay information will be broadcast on television and radio sources.
Television - KDKA, WTAE and WPXI
AM Radio – KDKA 1020, WMBA 1460, and KQV 1420
3. Moon Area families will be alerted by the AlertNow Rapid Notification telephone system, typically between 5 and 6 a.m. The service will call the primary phone number as provided to the district.
Alert Now
In the event of an emergency situation up to four phone numbers, in addition to the primary number, will be called. The additional emergency numbers used are those that have been provided to the district at the time of registration or latest Alert Now update. You may update, change or remove an Alert Now phone number for your household at any time. You may also choose to opt out of the Alert Now service.
