Academic Games allows students to use higher order thinking skills in the areas of Language Arts, English, History and Mathematics. Students compete locally against students in surrounding districts in the hopes of moving on to the national level
|American Cultures||To provide a forum for students who are interested in making sales - Sheetz Coupon, Candy, Bake, and Chocolate Patzels, along with Valentine messages, Ethrie Fwd Day, and raffle.|
|Art & Literature Club||To create, discuss and publish specific literary and artistic endeavors - Odyseey of the Mind Food Court|
|Band||To provide a forum of promoting the MAHS Marching Band and to enable fundraising activities that will allow students to travel, receive awards, purchase apparel and the general support of the organization - Concert Donations & Performance Honorariums|
|Cheerleading||To provide a forum for promoting the cheerleading and to enable fundraising activist that will allow students to travel, attend camp, receive awards, purchase apparel and the general support of the cheerleading program. Donation collection during Breast Cancer Awareness game to benefit the Young Women's Breast Cancer Association of Pgh, Tee Shirt Sale Fundraiser for PINK OUT.|

|Gay-Straight Alliance||To provide a forum for students of various sexual orientations to meet, discuss and address issues affecting them and their friends.|

|Guitar Club||To promote interest in learning to play and to perform with guitars and other string instruments, and to fund-raise in support of related activities and events.|

|Transition Services||To provide a forum for students to obtain experience in running a small business. Profits from the business will fund field trips that are part of transition services and the life skills curriculum.|
|Yearbook-MAHS||To plan, develop and produce an annual picture book of the students, faculty and staff of Moon Area High School.|
|Youth of Christ||To provide a forum for students who wish to discuss, display and share their faith with each other and to provide an opportunity for others to join.|
It is a great time to hang out with friends and enjoy some creative art activities. T-shirt painting, bracelet-making and clay sculptures are just a few of the projects.
Cadet Tigers Intramurals
To introduce participants to the diverse criminal justice system and educate them on the procedures and roles of law enforcement and law enforcement officials. *Upper House Only
Arena flag football will be run just like a traditional football game but with a shortened field and no contact rules. The students will be asked to make up plays and participate in an all passing playbook. *Upper House Only
This intramural activity is designed for all beginner, intermediate, or expert guitar and/or bass players. These lessons will consist of learning scales, chords, and arpeggios while learning your favorite songs. It's important to have fun and play songs you like while learning an instrument!
Guitar Building Club
Students will learn how to build an electric guitar from scratch using tools in the technology education labs. *Upper House Only
MATHCOUNTS strives to engage students of all ability and interest levels in fun, challenging math programs. Students gather from all 50 states in a series of in-person contests
Middle School Student Council
Provides a formal, recognized platform for students to learn, practice and develop governing competencies for the student body.
Students will take pictures weekly of a different theme (landscape, architecture, still life, portraits, etc.). The following week, the students will be asked to bring in printed-out pictures to discuss in a group. At the end, we will put together a photo album or collage for them to take home. We may also take shots during club time prior to discussion the following week. *Upper House Only
Sea Perch is an underwater robotics program where the students will work in small groups to design and build a vessel that explores the bottom of the swimming pool, and is driven remotely from outside the pool.
|Shakespeare Scene & Monologue Contest||This is a wonderful opportunity for young people to experience the excitement of live performance while learning the works of William Shakespeare. Students may enter the monologue, scene or both portions of the contest.|
(Begins November 2013) The most intense 2-on-2 game you will ever play. A cross between 4-square and volleyball, work with your teammate to set and spike past the competition! |Runners Mania||Runners mania is designed to get students involved in running and introduce them to a sport that many can't join until 7th grade. We run distance sprints, relay races, and short distances for fun and for exercise.|
Trout in the Classroom Club
|To train interested students how to do water quality testing on our Trout in the Classroom Aquarium.|
